Printed on the metal guide rail inside of this casement window, and on the window latch on the righthand side, is the factory printed word “TRUTH” with an arrow above it pointing towards the glass. It is a “handling” marking meant to instruct the installer as to which way the window is meant to swing open.
On the cement rock is written a quote from Ancient Greek statesman Demosthenes.
“Nothing is easier that self-deceit. For what each man wishes, that he also believes to be true.”
Blocking the view in or out of this window are things that symbolize the many barriers we put between ourselves and seeing or seeking the truth, most of which are our very own creations.
