suukya’

suukya’
(suke yeah)
n.

In the Hopi language, “suukya’” is the word for “one”.

one
adj.

1. Being a single entity, unit, object, or living being.
2. Characterized by unity; undivided
3. Occurring or existing as something indefinite, as in time or position.
4. Occurring or existing as something particular but unspecified, as in time past.

Hopi Indians thought that each of the world’s religions contained one spiritual thread, and that these threads were seeking to join each other. Once all of the threads of all of the religions were finally woven together the Hopis believed they would form a rope that would pull man out of this dark existence and into the next realm.

Suukya’ is the visualization of a soul in transition; from elsewhere, here now, waiting to move on.
